Grid-Link is a specialist engineering consultancy delivering end-to-end solutions for integrating energy assets into the grid. We're looking for an Electrical Design Drafter to join our engineering team, producing high-quality drawings and designs across all phases of project development, from concept through to as-built documentation.

About the opportunity

This is a role for someone who takes real pride in their drafting work. You'll collaborate closely with design leads and engineering teams to deliver accurate, compliant drawings across substation and MV power reticulation projects. You'll have the support of an experienced team around you, with genuine scope to grow your skills and work independently over time.

Based in Melbourne with occasional travel to site, client offices, and industry conferences.

What you'll be doing

• Produce accurate drawings and designs using MicroStation and AutoCAD in line with client and project requirements

• Apply and maintain high quality standards across all project deliverables

• Support design development activities and coordinate design tasks to meet deadlines and budgets

• Participate in internal review meetings and contribute to the wider project team

• Communicate effectively with engineers, project stakeholders, and clients

• Identify issues, develop appropriate solutions, and escalate where needed

What you'll bring

Essential:

• Relevant qualification in electrical design drafting (Diploma or higher)

• Proficiency in MicroStation and AutoCAD

• Solid experience in drawing preparation for electrical substations and MV power reticulation

• Good understanding of power transmission and distribution systems, protection, and control systems in substations

• Ability to work within multidisciplinary teams and take initiative independently

Valued:

• Qualification in electrical engineering (Diploma or higher)

• Experience working in a consulting environment
